About Santa Fe Landscape Blocks 1998

These images were created “en plein aire,” which is a fancy French way of saying “on site.” Most of my images are created in my studio, but since I was in Santa Fe, where the landscapes were so compelling, I decided to take my watercolors and paper outdoors and create some landscapes as I was looking at them. It was fun, and gave me an excuse to spend more time enjoying the magnificent northern New Mexico landscape.
